Ireland’s bravest canines are set to take centre stage once again, as the Irish Kennel Club Golden Paw Hero Dog Awards, sponsored by Agria Petinsure return for 2026.
Whether they’ve saved a life, offered unwavering companionship, or served with bravery in law enforcement, now is their chance to be recognised.
Nominations are open across seven categories:
- Life-Changing Dogs
- Therapy / Guide Dogs
- Bravery Dogs
- Search & Rescue Dogs
- Rescue / Rehomed Dogs
- Companion Dogs
- Law Enforcement Dogs

What do they win?
Each nominated dog will have the opportunity to shine on a national stage. The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony and lunch on Saturday, 21st February 2026. Finalists and their humans can look forward to a day of celebration, recognition, and unforgettable memories.
As well as capturing the hearts of the nation, each category winner will take home a Golden Paw trophy, a cash prize, and a special hamper, with additional prizes for the overall winner.
